The purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) is to identify potential sources of expertise with the capability and experience to provide Advanced Medium Mobile Power Sources (AMMPS) tactical generators. The level of security clearance and amount of foreign participation in this requirement has not been determined.Both large and small businesses are encouraged to participate in this Market Research. Joint ventures or teaming arrangements are encouraged. Contractors/Institutions responding to this market research are placed on notice that participation in this survey may not ensure participation in future solicitations or contract awards. The government will not reimburse participants for any expenses associated with their participation in this survey.Below is a brief description of AMMPS, followed by questions which allow you to provide your company's capability. Interested parties should submit responses to the RFI to the below points of contact by 21 July 2017.Responses as well as questions relative to this market research should be addressed to De'Anna Thompson at deanna.thompson.3@us.af.mil and Travis Simmons at travis.simmons.3@us.af.mil.Background:Advanced Medium Mobile Power Sources (AMMPS) is a tactical skid mounted power source that offers substantially improved fuel economy and reliability compared with the previous line of fielded generators. The AMMPS family of generators includes ten skid-mounted configurations and 16 trailer-mounted configurations known as Power Units and Power Plants (PU/PP). Standard light and medium tactical wheeled vehicles will tow the trailer-mounted configurations. The AMMPS generators are 50 percent more reliable than the standard generators and provide mobile, tactical electric power to deployed soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines worldwide. They directly support weapon systems, tactical operation centers, communications, intelligence and numerous other battlefield systems. AMMPS provides significant operational improvements that greatly decrease the logistics footprint on the battlefield. The AMMPS series generator requirements include the following key performance features, sizes and models:• Multi-fuel capable (JP-8, JP-4, DF-1, DF-2, DF-A)• Operate at all environment extremes• Excellent power quality• High reliability• Battlefield mobility• Ruggedized• 24 Volt DC• Nuclear, biological and chemical contamination survivability• Low infrared signature• Low noise signature• Ability to withstand high-altitude electromagnetic pulse (HEMP)• Rated power at altitudes above 4000 feet• 750 hours/6 months routine maintenance interval (oil and filter change)The scope of this effort shall encompass the manufacture of approximately 260 Advanced Medium Mobile Power Sources (AMMPS) tactical generators for delivery to the Air Force at various locations. The acquisition is projected as a one-year basic with two-year option period from 23 June 2017 to 22 June 2020, with anticipated with five years warranty. Contractor shall furnish all material, support equipment, tools, test equipment, and services.  The contractor is responsible for providing, maintaining, and calibrating all support equipment required at their facility or a subcontractor’s facility.  Contractor furnished material or parts used for replacement shall equal or exceed the quality of the original material or parts.Part I.
