IFB# 121-090921JA Rowan-Cabarrus Community College South Campus Building 1000 AHU Upgrades 1531 Trinity Church Road Concord, North Carolina 28027 INVITATION TO BID Sealed bids for construction of the Rowan-Cabarrus Community College, South Campus Building 1000 AHU Upgrades will be received via email until, but no later than 1:00 pm, local prevailing time, September 16, 2021, and then publicly opened and read immediately thereafter via ZOOM. Bidders are encouraged to view the bid opening in real time via a ZOOM link that follows. Bidders shall be licensed mechanical contractors in North Carolina HUB certified contractors are encouraged to submit a bid for this project. Bids received after the announced time and date for submittal will be rejected. Bidders are responsible for ensuring their Bid is received before the deadline indicated. Bids shall be submitted, by email in PDF format to Ronda Holland at ronda.holland@rccc.edu.

The attached Bid Form must be included with the submittal. Bidders will receive an email receipt notification that their bids have been received. A Certificate of Insurance and W-9 Form must be submitted with the Bid Submittal, demonstrating insurance coverage in accordance with Rowan-Cabarrus Community College requirements. Rowan- Cabarrus Community College must be listed as additional insured and certificate holders. The Scope of Work is as described in the drawings and specifications. Sub-contract work shall be included, if required, to affect a complete and satisfactory installation. All work and materials shall be included in the bid. The building’s last major renovation occurred in 2009. The existing building HVAC equipment, as indicated in the project documents, is at the end of its statistical life expectancy and has become maintenance intensive. The College is requesting a cost to replace existing air handling equipment. This includes removal and replacement of air handling units. As part of this project, the contractor will be expected to modify electrical service and integrate the new units to the existing building automation system. Contractor is responsible for visiting the site prior to bidding. Bids shall be based all necessary mater ials and labor to provide a complete and functional system. The Owner is interested in completing this work as quickly as possible. The bid form includes a line for lead time estimates as this will impact the selected alternates. BACKGROUND INFORMATION The building is served by one (1) 35,000 cfm air handling unit serving the 1000 building. Due to or iginal design constraints, the AHU will need to be cut and removed, temporary cooling and the new unit built on sight. The existing building automation system is an older JAVA based JACE. The College wants to upgrade all new controls. 3.0 CONTRACTOR RESPONSIBILITIES Contractor shall refer to plans for details.
