National Register of Historic Places Nominations

The City of Janesville, in collaboration with the School District of Janesville, is seeking a qualified consultant to prepare National Register of Historic Place Nominations for three public elementary schools located in Janesville, Wisconsin. Each of the three schools opened in the 1930s. Individual nomination questionnaires were submitted to Wisconsin Historical Society for each property in 2022, with all three properties ultimately determined to be potentially eligible for the State and National Registers under the Education and Architecture criteria (see Attachment A for additional details). Working under the direction of City of Janesville’s Senior Planner, the selected candidate will complete the necessary research and documentation of the properties, prepare National Register of Historic Places Nominations, and respond to requests for revision. Although this work may be done by an individual or a team, one person will be designated as the Principal Investigator, and this person will be ultimately responsible for the completion of the work specified in the scope of services.
