Bid Specifications For Cheboygan County Vehicle Maintenance Contract Years: May 15, 2024 to May 14, 2028 1. Repair facility must be State licensed. All mechanical work to be performed by certified mechanic. 2. Must be a full-service repair facility capable of performing all major and minor repairs and preventative maintenance, must monitor County vehicles for repair and maintenance through regular vehicle inspections and performance of Manufacturers’ recommended service procedures. 3. Must provide County with a copy of a current Garage Liability Insurance Policy and Workers Compensation Certificate. 4. Must guarantee first priority for County Building vehicles, (preventative maintenance will be on a scheduled basis) and guarantee secure storage of Sheriff’s vehicles. 5. A mechanic must be available for emergency repairs on Sheriff’s vehicles (on call) during nights, weekends, and holidays. 6. Must quote an hourly rate for regular hours and emergency calls, 7. Must quote percentage of
mark-up over cost on parts and materials. 8. Must quote oil changes as a set fee up to 6 quarts. 9. Tires are typically purchased by the County through a distributor under the State of Michigan Purchasing program and will be dropped ship to the maintenance provider for installation. Maintenance provider will coordinate tire type and delivery timing with supplier. Typical tires installed are for the following vehicles: High-speed law enforcement vehicles General cars and trucks Ford Escape Ford Fusion Chevrolet Equinox Chevrolet Trax Jeep Compass Ford F-150 10. Must quote tire rotation, mounting and balancing, and tire disposal as separate set fees. 11. Must list any warranty on work performed, labor or parts. 12. The County Administrator must approve any subletting of repairs PRIOR to work. 13. Bids are to be submitted to the Administrator’s Office in a sealed envelope marked “County Vehicle Repair Bid” no later than Thursday, April 18, 2024 at 2:00 PM. 14. The County reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids and will accept only the bid deemed to be in the best interest of the County.
