NOTES: This is a single source posting notification; there are no solicitation documents for download. Note this posting is not a Request for Bid (RFB) or Request for Proposal (RFP).The Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA) wants to purchase a New Waters ACQUITY UPLC H-Class PLUS System that will be used as part of the MDA’s lab Waters Premier LCMS system. The LCMS system is dedicated to glyphosate analysis at the MDA lab. Glyphosate (commonly known as Roundup)
is one of the widely used herbicides in crop production. More than 20% of samples collected by the MDA for pesticide misuse cases are analyzed for glyphosate using the LCMS system. The purchase includes software and installation of the equipment. MDA will trade in their old Waters equipment for a newer model and receive a significant discount on the new equipment as a result of the trade-in.The Waters ACQUITY UPLC H-Class PLUS will replace Waters Acquity LC that is part of Waters Premier LCMS system. The LCMS System is dedicated to glyphosate analysis which requires specific instrument parameters and instrument software (MassLynx). ACQUITY UPLC H-Class PLUS is the only LC system that can replace Acquity LC and meet the specific parameters and software requirements without the need for purchasing additional instrument parts. The installation of the Waters ACQUITY UPLC H-Class PLUS requires Waters Service Technicians who are trained for maintenance and installation service exclusive to Waters Brand instrument. Waters Corporation is the only manufacturer and supplier of Waters Brand instrumentation, software, supplies, and maintenance services for Waters brand products. These products are available only through Waters Sales Representatives. Waters Sales and Service Technicians are Waters full-time employees; Waters does not hire any subcontractors to perform these highly specialized functions. If there are any concerns regarding this single source opportunity, contact Marsha West at Marsha.West@state.mn.usby November 24, 2020, at 2:00 PM Central Time.
