36C24523Q0266 Questions and Answers: The Statement of Work states Existing structural systems associated with the existing booms will be removed as necessary and as required by the new booms.  Is removing the structure and installing new structure part of the scope of work for this project or will this be a separate project? Answer: Existing booms will be removed as necessary is part of this procurement. In the salient characteristics there is a statement about dual side by side display holders but also it states able to support 37 monitors. Which requirement is correct? Is it a 37 inch monitor or side by side? Clarification is requested.  Answer: 37-inch monitor. The Statement of Work states Must be compatible with existing Skytron infrastructure already mounted above the ceiling.  What infrastructure is referenced here? Clarification is requested.  Answer: Ceiling mount infrastructure. Are the gas and power quantities per "anesthesia boom" and "utility boom" accurate?
There is a discrepancy between the requested quantities and the amount existing on the booms. Could be an issue with installation and pulling gas lines if we add a significant amount to each boom. Answer: Yes the gas and power quantities per "anesthesia boom" and "utility boom" are accurate. Are we 100% removing the gas columns and installing booms? The current gas column for the "utility boom" does not have shelving or an articulating arm. That will be a change in the type of equipment going in this location. We do not supply gas columns, but it does not seem like the request was for gas columns. Answer: Yes Do we need shelving for the equipment "utility" boom? It will not cost a significant amount more but that would eliminate the need for carts in the room, such as the one hosting the Bovie machine, Endo cam, etc. Standard for an equipment boom Answer: No There are more pieces of infrastructure in the rooms than is what's listed in the proposal. Will everything need to be taken down or just the pieces listed in the document? For example: Take down in OR1 includes: Anesthesia Boom & Light Boom. There is also a utility gas column and extra monitor arm in the room. Will these also need to be taken down since they are projected to be replaced in the "needs" below? Answer: Everything will need to be taken down. We are unable to make the site visit due to schedule conflicts. Is it possible to gather any related drawings so we can submit a proposal? Answer: Unfortunately, we cannot provide drawings. Will Clarksburg VA be using existing med gas hoses? Answer: No Will there be a DOH inspection after completion? Answer: No Is this a turn-key solution to be included with the equipment? (ICRA, electrical, plumbing, data etc.) and would it include electrical and gas inspections? Answer: Yes It would include Facility electrical and gas inspections reference this section for the solicitation: 1.3 Performance: The Clarksburg VA Medical Center is seeking to replace the operating room (OR) booms in its four (4) operating rooms. This will include three (3) center mounted anesthesia/lights/flatscreen booms, three (3) side mounted utility/flatscreen booms and one (1) light/flatscreen boom. Existing structural systems associated with the existing booms will be removed as necessary and as required by the new booms. Contractor shall be responsible for disconnecting outgoing booms from electrical power, relocating electrical power as required to support the new booms, and ensuring all electrical work is coordinated with appropriate facility staff. The contractor shall cut med gas lines back as needed to allow for any new structural installation. They shall install new med gas risers and provide certification for the med gases after the work is complete. Contractor shall patch and paint as needed to correct any areas disturbed by the work. Boom brake infrastructure will need to be installed that may be electrical or pneumatic depending on configuration purchase. Any existing structure such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing etc. that will need to be turned off and or rerouted shall be done so by the contractor after coordination and approval by the appropriate facility staff. Any deinstallation and reinstallation of the present OR Integration System to include integration cameras, monitors, processors, etc shall be coordinated with the manufacturer of the system, Skytron. Skytron will be contracted to do much of this work, but the Contractor shall provide access, coordination, and assistance as required. All deinstallation and installation debris to include any packing materials, shall be removed from VA property by the Contractor.
