In general, consulting services required include above and below water inspections of waterfront facilities, cataloging and reporting any defects, and providing engineering recommendations for repairs, cost estimates, and schedules. Consultant may be asked to perform other related tasks that may be added as POLB identifies them. POLB’s invitation, in itself, does not guarantee award of contract nor does POLB imply by such solicitation that the consultant is entitled to such award or contract. POLB’s Wharf Inspection and Monitoring Program involves routine inspections and monitoring of waterfront facilities, such as wharves, bulkheads, dolphins, docks, and other facilities and structures. The reports from these inspections provide support for POLB’s preventative maintenance programs to ensure the safety and integrity of all waterfront facilities and underwater infrastructure within the Harbor District. POLB also enforces the Green Port Policy adopted by the Port of Long Beach Harbor Commission in protecting the marine environment.
