The U.S. Army Contracting Command - Aberdeen Proving Ground – Natick Contracting Division on behalf of the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities and Development Command (CCDC), Expeditionary Maneuver Support Directorate (EMSD) intends to procure on a sole source basis under FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)), Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services will Satisfy Agency Requirements – three (3) Additive Manufacturing Post Processing Solutions. The DEPT Engineering Team at CCDC SC is working to standardize finishing and coloring for Powder-based Additive Manufactured parts.  There is a need for automated powder removal, surfacing, and coloring processes to ensure parts made on these platforms are delivered as uniformly as possible.  Identical systems shall be placed at CCDC SC and CCDC AC for standardization efforts.The salient performance characteristics of the Additive Manufacturing Post Processing Solution are as follows:3 each Automated powder removal system comprised of bead blasting
technologies operated by compressed air and a tumbling basket compatible with various Powder Based Additive Manufacturing end products.System must fit full Build Volume of MultiJet Fusion 4200 printer.Multiple nozzle systemStainless Steel Cabinet3 each Automated surface finishing system comprised of bead blasting technologies operated by compressed air and a tumbling basket compatible with various Powder Based Additive Manufacturing end products and matched to powder removal system.System must fit full Build Volume of MultiJet Fusion 4200 printer.Multiple nozzle systemStainless Steel Cabinet3 each Full-color Dyeing system providing repeatable coloring for various Powder Based Additive Manufacturing end products and matched to powder removal and surface finishing systems (1) and (2).System must accept pre-mixed color cartridgesSystem must have multiple size color cartridges for variable build sizesSystem must have capability to achieve full range of color3 each Reverse Osmosis System to be used with Dyeing system to ensure consistent chemistry for dyeing.Installation and training of finishing systemsStartup media for Bead Blaster and Dyeing StationProvide custom color cartridges for dyeing that match Army Pantone color requirements.The contractor's primary focus shall be to:                (1)  Deliver and install 3 automated system(s) for powder removal, surface finishing, and dyeing that is highly repeatable.                (2)  Provide custom colors for dyeing that match Army Pantone color requirements.Natick Contracting is anticipating awarding this contract to Cimquest, Inc. 3434 Rte 22 Ste 130, Branchburg, NJ, 08876-6011. Cimquest is the only company that can provide the required Additive Manufacturing Post Processing Solution. A Firm Fixed Price Contract will be issued.
