Williams, Director Halifax County Public Utilities (252) 583-1451 williamscm@halifaxnc.com Business Hours: 8:30AM - 5:00PM Qualifications: Halifax County Public Utilities Solid Waste Division will accept sealed bids to provide new or used mobile equipment capable of shredding whole tires in a manner that results in a final product that is suitable for disposal in a landfill. Additionally, the equipment should be capable of shredding Construction and Demolition materials (excluding concrete), mattresses,
boxsprings, pallets, limbs, brush, stumps and other woody debris. Preferred specifications include (but are not limited to) dual shafts, diesel power generation that meets current federal and state emissions requirements, misting system for dust control and increased operational efficiency, maintenance package and parts availability, product demonstration and on-site training. Transportation costs to 921 Liles Road, Littleton, NC 27850 must be included in the proposal. Special Requirements: Additionally, we would like an option for a classifier system that would allow the proposed equipment to be used to create a final product that can be used as Tire Derived Fuel. Additional specifications would include an appropriate classifier system with returns for rejects, bypass system to allow non-tire materials to not be screened by classifier in addition to the items listed above. Any changes to the terms, conditions or specifications stated in this IFB will be documented in a written addendum, issued by the Halifax County Public Utilities Office. These addenda will be posted on the Internet at https://www.halifaxnc.com. Each Bidder is required to acknowledge receipt of all addenda using the space provided on the enclosed Bid Submission Form. Please note that we may not consider any Bid that fails to acknowledge receipt of each issued addendum.
