Prequalification Application, shall be permitted to bid on this project. Project Description: The University is engaged in a multi-year project to upgrade its network equipment and wired access infrastructure to the current standards. As part of this effort this coming summer two residence Hall complexes need upgrading: 1. Alumni Residence Halls include four similarly constructed seven-story dormitory towers – Watson Hall, Belden Hall, Eddy Hall, and Brock Hall – and Ryan Hall, a two-story business use facility. 2. West Campus Residence Halls include four similarly constructed four-story buildings - Alsop Hall, Hollister Hall, Shakespeare, Chandler/Lancaster,3. Depot Campus Longley School, a three-story business use facility. Scope of Work:  Alumni Residence Hall – Each of the 4 buildings will require replacing existing cable wiring. Currently there are two telecom rooms per residential building that will be consolidated to a single room. The telecom rooms will need power upgrades, card access control, and lighting. Ryan Hall is limited to power, cooling, lighting. o Alumni Residence Hall Building characteristics:  Each residence hall building has the approximate sizing Prequalification – Project Information Page 2  Floors: 6 + basement - Assignable SQFT: Approximately 30,000, TRs: 2 to consolidate to one  Student Rms: approximately 125, Staff/Faculty Rms: ~4, Utility Rms: ~4  Ryan Hall: Equipment Only upgrade: Evaluation of telecom room for power, airflow, and lighting.  West Campus Residence Halls - Each of the 4 buildings will require replacing existing cable wiring. The telecom rooms will need power upgrades, card access control, and lighting o Each residence hall building has the approximate sizing  Floors: 4 + basement Assignable SQFT: 17,500 Current TRs: 1  Student Rms: ~62 Staff/Faculty Rms: ~5 Utility Rms: ~4  Depot - Longley Building – The building will require a partial replacement of cabling with work required in the telecom room to upgrade power, lighting, and card access. Project Schedule/Duration:  The construction is planned to start: May 23, 2022  Construction duration: Two (2) Months for the Alumni and West Residence Halls. Depot- Longley to be completed within a month after the residence halls are completed. Financial Ability: The Contractor must demonstrate the financial ability and bonding capacity to complete a construction project with a minimum value of at least $861,500 Project Staffing: The Contractor must demonstrate the ability to staff the project with high quality, experienced personnel. A full time, dedicated Project Superintendent and Project Manager is mandatory, and the contractor must demonstrate adequate levels of staffing to oversee the project through completion. The firm must demonstrate the individual staff members’ experience on past relevant projects performing work of a similar scope and nature to this project and in a comparable position as assigned on this project. Project Relevant Experience: A minimum of three (3) examples must be submitted that are in progress (at least 75% complete) or completed within the past five (5) years. For a project to be considered, the value of that project must have a minimum value of $645,000. A detailed description of the work performed and how it relates to the scope of work outlined in the Prequalification Application shall be included. Supplier Diversity Requirements: If prequalified, a bidding requirement prerequisite will be that the awarded Contractor must self- perform a minimum of ten percent (10%) of their submitted bid amount. Also, in the bidding of most deferred maintenance, major renovation, and new construction projects, contractors are advised that they must award thirty percent (30%) or more of the value of their awarded contract to certified SBE’s and, of that amount, one-third (10% of the total award) or more must be awarded to SBE’s who are also MBE’s. The contractors are responsible for ensuring that they and the SBE’s they have elected are eligible contractors, and that they meet state requirements.
