Notice Number:173409597 Date Posted:6/30/2023 Comments Due:7/7/2023 at 8:30 AMcurrent Mountain Time. The Utah Procurement Code provides that a procurement may be made without competition when the University determines that there is only one source that can reasonably meet the University’s need for the required supply or service, as described in Utah Code Ann. § 63G-6a-802. The Purchasing Department has received the following request for sole source procurement: Product and/or Service to be purchased:iTransplant- Eye Bank Medical Information System Sole Source Supplier:Transplant Connect Earliest Proposed Purchase Date:7/7/2023 Valid Effective Date Range:July 2023 – July 2028 Buyer Name:Colette Brown Sole Source Justification: The Utah Lions Eye Bank has been using iTransplant since December 2012. We manage the call center for the local organ and tissue procurement
organization, Donor Connect, and both our organizations use the iTransplant platform. The call center is staffed 24 hours a day. The iTransplant Eye Bank Medical Information System is an online based, secure EMR database system for which all information to facilitate eye tissue donation for transplantation and research is entered/stored and meets regulatory requirements. The University proposes using iTransplant for five years for compatibility of the software system. Estimated transitional costs of $137,000.00 are considered unreasonable and/or cost prohibitive.
