Co-processed Diesel Fuels

This is a Request for Information (RFI) only as defined in FAR 15.201(e). The Government seeks to identify suppliers of Diesel Fuels (MIL-DTL-16884, ISO 8217, ASTM D975, EN 590, etc) who are currently or planning in the future to co-process mono-, di-, and triglycerides, fatty acids, and fatty acid esters as part of their refining process. The Department of Defense (DoD) is investigating the current prevalence of these co-processed fuels in both foreign and domestic markets.Currently co-processed material is not permitted in military grade marine diesel F-76. DoD will identify a market appropriate permissible level for study and potential inclusion in the MIL-DTL-16884 specification for F-76 Naval Distillate Fuel.THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY. This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes, This RFI does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) or a promise to issue an RFP in the future. This request for information does not commit the Government to

contract for any supply or service whatsoever. Further, DLA is not at this time seeking proposals and will not accept unsolicited proposals. Respondees are advised that the U.S. Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this RFI; all costs associated with responding to this RFI will be solely at the interested party's expense. Not responding to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future RFP, if any is issued. All information received in response to this RFI that is marked Proprietary will be handled accordingly. Responses to the RFI will not be returned.
