The Defense Advisory Committee on Investigation, Prosecution, and Defense of Sexual Assault in the Armed Forces (DAC-IPAD) requests authority to obtain short-term meeting space. The DAC-IPAD will convene a two-day public meeting on December 6-7, 2022. Under the provisions of the Federal Advisory Committee Act, federal agencies sponsoring advisory committees must open advisory committee meetings to the public and the meetings must be reasonably accessible. DAC-IPAD requires conference room spacing that can accommodate seating for up to 50 people with a minimum spacing of 1000 square foot or larger. A breakout room is also required with seating for up to 20 people. Audio and Video (A/V) requirements must include microphones, projector/video displays, ability to broadcast Zoom, internet service, and audio switch boxes to connect laptops, microphones, and court reporting equipment. The open meeting requirement, along with the size of the panel and the anticipated public interest, makes holding DAC-IPAD meeting in the DAC-IPAD facility unfeasible.
