The City of Mountain View will receive
completed Responsibility Statement/
Questionnaire from Prime Contractors for
construction of the Mountain View Rengstorff
Park Aquatics Center Replacement project. It
is absolutely mandatory that all Prime
Contractors who intend to submit bids for
this work submit a completed Responsibility
Statement/ Questionnaire and be approved by
the City to be on the pre-qualified final
Bidders List.

Bidders not approved for the final pre-
qualified Bidders List cannot submit a
monetary bid for the work detailed above, and
if they do submit a bid, it will be returned
unopened. Bids from Bidders on the final
approved pre-qualified Bidders List shall be
the only bids accepted and opened.

THE PROJECT:
The project site is currently occupied by the
existing
single-story 5,200 square foot
aquatics center building comprised of two
pools and a parking lot that was first opened
in 1959 in Rengstorff Park.

The proposed project includes demolition of
the existing building, pools and site
improvements, and construction of a
replacement facility designed to become a
year-round aquatics center for the City of
Mountain View. The new aquatics center will
include an approximately 8,200 square foot
aquatics center building, new lap and leisure
pools, new pool deck, perimeter fencing and
associated site improvements. The existing
parking lot will be revised to add a vehicle
drop-off circle, provisions for electric
vehicle (EV) charging stations and will also
be restriped to improve efficiency. The
project will have a design/build roof mounted
solar photo voltaic & solar thermal water
heating system. This project is also being
designed to meet the latest Mountain View
Green Building codes and will obtain LEED
Gold certification per City policy.

Other specific improvements include, but are
not limited to, installation of pool heating
and water-treatment equipment; new
mechanical, plumbing, electrical and low-
voltage systems; new fire sprinkler system;
new finishes; site utilities; parking layout
improvements, landscaping, and irrigation.
