Job Description:The Special Programs Coordinator - Digital Technology Coach coordinates with Library and Learning Commons Staff to provide Berkshire Community College students and employees with technology support and training. The Berkshire Community College Library and Learning Commons helps students explore, plan and acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to achieve their education and career goals. Under the general supervision of and in collaboration with the Dean of the Library & Learning Commons, the Special Programs Coordinator - Digital Technologies Coach will assist in providing direct academic technology support to students in the form of drop-in questions, workshops, remote tech support, creating documentation, and other outreach programs. The Coordinator will assist in supervising part-time and student computer lab employees and will work to promote academic technology education and adoption throughout the college community by providing trainings and workshops to students, faculty, and staff. Essential Functions, Duties, And Responsibilities: Provide technical support, sometimes remote, for all the academic technologies which the college uses.Assist in the maintenance and creation of technical documentation used by the college community. Provide trainings and workshops on the use of academic technologies used at the college.Attend staff meetings, college meetings, college committees and professional development provided by the college, participate in professional development activities provided by MA Department of Education, as required.Demonstrate a sense of professionalism and consistency reflect BCC's core values when interfacing with members of the community.Perform other duties as assigned, consistent with the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Requirements:Education And Experience: NOTE: Unless otherwise noted, all required qualifications must be met by date of hire. Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or other field related to area of assignment.Minimum of three (3) years of experience and/or training involving area of assignment, which may include information technology, academic technology, administrative work in an academic environment, or personal computer operations in a business setting.An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience shall be considered.Demonstrated experience in supporting students and their technology needs in an academic setting.Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications, Learning Management Systems (preferably Moodle,) Windows and Macintosh operating systems, including best practices in all these technologies.Strong interpersonal, verbal/written communication, and organization skills that reflect inclusiveness, adaptiveness, and flexibility.Demonstrated commitment to embracing and serving the needs of a diverse community, including the ability to work effectively with a diverse student body, faculty, and staff. Preferred Qualifications: Experience supporting mobile devices, including knowing their limitations, within an academic environment.Experience with HTML or editing websites through a CMS.Experience supporting students with Assistive Technology such as screen readers, dictation software, and smart pens.Experience working with a diverse student population.Ability to communicate in a language in addition to English.
