CIS Master Software UPGRADE

This is a NOT a request for bids, quotes or proposals. At this time, no solicitation exists. This notification is posted for INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY.This is a one-time, sole-source purchase for the installation of the Master Software Upgrade for the Currency Inspection System (CIS) equipment used by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP), Office of Currency Manufacturing (OCM) at its WCF facility.This software is urgently needed to replace and upgrade the outdated stacker software used in the CIS currency inspection equipment.Muhlbauer Inc is the manufacturer of the above-mentioned equipment used by BEP for inspecting U.S. currency. As such, only Muhlbauer can provide the urgently needed software upgrade. The BEP's decision to award a one-time, sole source purchase order with Muhlbauer is to ensure continuous and uninterrupted operation of the currency inspection process. BEP determined that the only way to attain this goal is to procure the needed software upgrade from Muhlbauer Inc.The BEP intends to sole-source this requirement to Muhlbauer Inc. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 333244, Printing Machinery and Equipment Manufacturing. The Product Service Code is 7030, ADP Software.This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive quotes. If you feel your firm can provide software upgrade for the BEP's CIS equipment, please submit a capabilities statement by 12:00 PM EST, April 17, 2019. The decision not to compete this requirement is within the discretion of the Government. Any response to this notice must provide clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government.
