In support, the Army released a
request for information (RFI) to industry on June 13, 2023, as part of market research to identify potential sources, capabilities, alternative ideas, and approaches for the continued development, production, and sustainment of the Family of Terminals–Large (FoT-L) satellite communication (SATCOM) antennas. These antennas range from approximately 2.2-2.4 meters in size. The overarching FoT-L goal is to reduce the number of large terminal antenna variants in Project Manager Tactical Network’s portfolio from six variants to two. Near term goals of the FoT-L effort are to reduce total cost of large tactical terminals, number of variants, logistics burden, and training variations across the user community. Long term goals support continuous fielding of modern technology to the Warfighter that enhance capability, transportability, adaptability, and modularity, while reducing complexity and cognitive burden. The original FoT-L RFI can be found on SAM.gov at the following link: https://sam.gov/opp/94bf0578829b464d8744c698726a20c5/viewAs part of continuing market research and a follow-on to the RFI, the Army will host an FoT-L Industry Event, which will kick off with an on-site General Session on November 7, 2023, at 0900 (EST).
