Amendment 2 Question and answers for solicitation 36C24222B0063 Project Roads Repair at Northport VAMC Question 1: The general requirements state work to start Friday at 4:30 PM with the road opening on Monday morning. However, during the prebid, it was stated that we were able to work every night after 4:00 PM. Which is the correct time? We have never heard of getting asphalt on a Sunday. Answer 1:The facility is willing to allow closure of the road starting on Thursday night (4:30 PM) and reopening on Monday morning (6:00 AM) for traffic. This is for the entrance of the facility. The area between building 12 and building 10 can be completed at night any other day of the week. Striping can be completed at night any day during the week. Question 2 Can the road be opened and used as milled asphalt, or do you have to mill, pave, and stripe, then open up the road? Answer 2: Mill and paved. Striping can be done after. Question 3: The bid pricing sheet states that bids need to be held for
120 days. The paving season will be over if the bid is held that long. If we are allowed to pave in the spring, will there be an asphalt escalation clause? Answer 3: Bids are to be held based on funding for award. Question 4:The period of performance is 30 days for completion. If we are only allowed to work weekends, there would only be 4 weekends we can work. If it rains during that time, we would not be able to pave. What happens then? Answer 4:The weekends are for the road at the front entrance of the facility. The facility is allowing work to be completed on any night during the week for the area from Building 12 to Building 10.
