Propane Tank Decommissioning Services

Propane Tank Decommissioning Services Project Description :The Regional District is requesting proposals from qualified Contractors to provide decommissioning for propane tanks received at the Sechelt Landfill (located at 4905 Dusty Road, Sechelt) and Pender Harbour Transfer Station (located at 5545 Garden Bay Road, Garden Bay) sites. Propane tanks are segregated in a separate area at the sites and after decommissioning are added to the other metal items for recycling. In 2021, approximately 3900 propane tanks were received at the Sechelt Landfill, and 988 propane tanks were received at the Pender Harbour Transfer Station. A breakdown of propane tanks by size and site is provided in Appendix 1. Proponents are advised that the Sechelt Landfill and Pender Harbour Transfer Station sites have some space restrictions due to site layout and access.
