RFI 142-24 Call for Artist - BMX Electrical Box (Call for Artist - Whitney BMX Electrical Box)

The City of Henderson is calling on all artist to design and create one (1) unique mural for a utility box located at the Whitney Mesa BMX track in Henderson, Nevada. The utility box is approximately 14’7” long, 4’2” wide, and 5’11” tall (totaling approximately +/- 43 square feet). The painted utility box will enhance the cultural beauty and environment of the Whitney Mesa Recreation Area and support the City’s efforts to make all Henderson parks more welcoming for all. The mural must encapsulate a BMX or bike theme and complement the adjacent BMX track. The mural should embody the girt, adrenaline, and freedom that BMX enthusiasts often experience as they participate in the sport. BMX stands for Bicycle Motocross and is a popular and well recognized Olympic Sport that involves riders and enthusiasts racing on purpose built off-road tracks, or performances of tricks, stunts, and other acts. One artist will be chosen for the project. Selected artists will have one week to complete the

mural and the mural must be completed by no later than May 12, 2024. Selected artist/artist teams will be rewarded up to $2,000.00 for the selected mural space. One artist or artist team will be awarded the entire project.
