The project will be designed to meet the University of California Regent's Policy on Sustainable Practices requirements and intent. The project is subject to review and approval by the UC Board of Regents or their delegated authority, as well as the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).
This RFQ is for the initial Pre-Design Study Phase. However, the University will select an Executive Architect based upon its ability to execute both the study phase and full design services should the project continue. The University reserves the right to defer negotiations concerning services other than the pre-design study until completion of the phase. The final selection and appointment of the Executive Architect for the pre-design study phase is contingent upon approval by the University of California Office of the President.
The complete RFQ packet will be available at
http://www.capitalprograms.ucla.edu/Contracts/RFQProjects on Wednesday, January 5, 2020; responses to the RFQ are due by or before 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 26, 2022. A screening committee will determine a shortlist of firms; further steps in the selection process will be at the selection committee's discretion.
Every effort will be made to ensure that all persons have equal access to contracts and other business opportunities with the University within limits imposed by law or University policy. Each Candidate Firm may be required to show evidence of its equal employment opportunity policy.
