Gowlland Tod Provincial Park Trail Decommission and Rehabilitation

The Partridge Hills area of Gowlland Tod Provincial Park is both a popular recreation destination for the hiking and mountain biking community, and an area of high ecological value and biodiversity. BC Parks is currently formalizing the trail system in this area with the goal of maintaining the area’s high recreational value along with providing enhanced protection/restoration to the area’s sensitive ecological values. Phase I of trail upgrades, recently completed, focussed on replacement of existing and design/installation of new infrastructure (bridges, boardwalks, fencing, signage, etc). These changes and enhancements were put in place to increase visitor safety, focus use patterns, and provide ‘gentle’ barriers to the area’s most ecologically sensitive locations. Phase II of this project, the subject of this RFP, will deactivate trails within the system that are either redundant or that may impact or direct use into sensitive areas, along with provide restoration to previously disturbed/impacted areas.
