1 Procurement Department 2 Space Drive • Taylors, SC 29687-6072 • (864) 355-1279 • The School District of Greenville County Addendum No. 1 Date: February 3, 2023 Re: Tennis Court Maintenance IFB No.: 423-5-2-16 The following information becomes part and parcel of Invitation for Bid (IFB) #423-5-2-16 effective this date. Firms must acknowledge receipt of this addendum in their solicitation response. The listed items add to, modify, or otherwise alter the specifications and become part of the solicitation documents. Where a portion of the original specifications are added to, modified, or also altered, the portion not so affected shall remain. Firms may have the right to protest this addendum. *** A new Bid Form is included in the Addendum. Only the REVISED BID FORM is to be used. *** The revisions provided below are changes to the original specifications stated in the IFB: Page 20 Safety Item 12- Contractor shall submit to the District Representative and Athletic director at each
school location, SDS forms for all material used in the care and maintenance of the GCS High School Tennis courts Page 21- High School locations and number of courts. - Add Riverside High (6 courts) and Southside High (6 courts). They were not on the original list of locations. - Remove Beck MS and Phinnize J Fisher MS. (As a result, see attached revised Bid Form.) - List Bryson MS beside Hillcrest HS. Same line in the list - There are 79 tennis courts to be maintained at GCS High schools. (As a result, see attached revised Bid Form.) Page 22 Section 4, General Tennis court services Specifications Item 14 – Change to July 31st of each calendar year 2 Page 26 Section 10 Schedule of Work to be performed during awarded Solicitation Item 6 – Change to July 31st of each calendar year Page 24 Category 5 Tennis court resurfacing Section C, Item 2 change to: One coat of acrylic resurfacing product is to be applied when the tennis courts are resurfaced. Page 25 C. Color Coating Add: The color is to match the existing green color on the tennis courts. Page Section number 10 Schedule of work to be performed under Awarded Solicitation - Remove: Phinnize J Fisher MS, Beck MS from the lists - under Item 5- change to: Apply one coat of specified acrylic resurfacer to the courts at each location during the rotation. Unless otherwise requested by the district representative. - Item 6- change to: “ All work needs to be completed by 7/31 of each calendar year starting 2023”. Bid forms- remove Beck MS and Phinnize J Fisher MS from all areas of the forms. (As a result, see attached revised Bid Form.) Inquiries/ District Responses Before the solicitation inquiry deadline the District received inquiries regarding this solicitation. The District’s response to each question follows in bold font. 1. Page 22, 26, 27 & 28 - The pages reference completing 6 schools per summer. There is not adequate time and crew availability in the duration per the IFB for six schools to be completed in one summer. Phinnize J Fisher and Beck MS are being eliminated from the list for maintenance. A JL Mann and Fountain Inn HS are post tensioned concrete courts. JL Mann and Fountain Inn will be spread out in the yearly rotations as they will not require as much maintenance as the asphalt courts. The number of maintained courts changes to 79 courts. 2. Page 22 A. Summary 14) - the completion date is listed as August 15th of each calendar year. Page 26 10 A. 6) States that the work needs to be completed by July 15th of each calendar year. If in any year, the deadline is 7/15, the # of schools to be completed will have to be adjusted accordingly. The completion date will be 7/31 for each year. Tennis season starts on 8/1. See revised specifications stated above. 3. Page 22 A. Summary 8) - This items calls for the replacement of asphalt. The school court with the biggest problem related to settling of the asphalt is Berea High School. I was able to look thoroughly at this court and evaluate the area(s) holding water. To properly fix the condition, these courts need to be reconstructed. Please provide direction as to the best way to handle this high school. The scope of work is specified in Page 22A, summary Item 8. Anything not listed in this item is outside the scope of this solicitation. Any other means of repair may be recommended by the contractor to the District representative for approval. 3 4. Page 22 A. Summary 12) and Page 29 - If there are drainage issues related to these trough drains, additional information will need to be provided. The contractor will not be responsible for any work outside the fenced area of the tennis courts. 5. Page 25 7. B. and Page 29 Unit Price of Post Replacement - The description given on Page 25 suggests that all new net post footings and posts are being installed. . See attached Revised Bid Form. A unit price will be submitted for removing and replacing the net post footings. 6. Page 30 6. Unit Price for Crack Repair, Resurfacing, Color Coating, Line Painting for Additional School - The price per court is based on the actual condition of the court. The price will vary greatly depending on if a court is in good shape versus bad shape. Please provide additional context as to what you are looking for related to this Unit Price. The District has provided the addresses of each school that has tennis courts to be maintained. As stated in the IFB, vendors may visit each location to determine their pricing for the maintenance of the tennis courts at each school. See Page Two, Paragraph title “Jobsite Visits”.
