The National Park Service, Northeast Region, New England Major Acquisition Buying Office intends to issue an Invitation for Bids (IFB) for a firm fixed priced construction contract, subject to the Davis-Bacon Act to furnish all labor, supervision, supplies, equipment, tools, materials, all supplementary or miscellaneous items, appurtenances and devices incidental to or necessary for the project required to complete the work in accordance with the Contract Documents. Rehabilitate the Fire Suppression, Fire Alarm and Security Systems of Springfield Armory Building #13. The work includes but is not limited to:1. Replace Building Wide Fire Alarm System Demolition of the existing obsolete and malfunctioning Fire Alarm System in Building # 13. Replace existing analog fire alarm panel with new addressable panel and new addressable initiating and annunciating devices including ADA required annunciation. 2. Renovation of Fire Suppression System: Project work will rehabilitate the existing fire
suppression system. Scope of work includes Modify piping to meet NFPA 13 requirements, replace exiting fire sprinkler heads, and modify branch piping to provide proper coverage and convert existing dry pipe valve assemblies to wet pipe. Add nitrogen system to remaining dry system in attic and add fire department connection. 3. Replacement of the Security System: Building #13 is currently monitored by a collection of outdated motion, detectors, cameras, contacts and switches. This project will replace the existing alarm system with new devices including CCTV cameras, keypads, access card readers and motion detectors. All existing device wiring will be replaced. The NAICS code for this project is 238220 and the small business size standard is $15 million.
