Description of Work: The purpose of this project is to address significant drainage issues along Sulphur Springs Road that cause flooding in the roadway at the low point of the basin (the intersection with an unnamed tributary of Hominy Creek). This project will install a new drainage system that addresses the issues and provides a system that can be upgraded with future projects along the contributing side streets. The culvert extension and associated stream stabilization will address existing slopes that exceed 2:1 at the roadway and provide a more sustainable stream bank that will not be as prone to erosion as the current situation. Bid Schedule: A non-mandatory virtual pre-bid conference will be held at 10:00 pm on the 10th day of June 2021. Interested parties are invited to attend this meeting to review the plans and ask for additional information or clarification. The pre-bid meeting will be conducted virtually. The City Council of the City of Asheville has adopted a policy that the City of Asheville will not enter into contracts with bidders who are delinquent in the payment of ad valorem taxes owed to the City of Asheville. License Requirements: All bidders must have current North Carolina Building Contractor licenses with the appropriate classification for all work of the project at the time of the bid.
