Water Treatment Plant OperatorCity of Neenah, WIThe City of Neenah Water Utility is looking for an energetic, knowledgeable, and experienced candidate  interested in joining our team as a Water Treatment Plant Operator to operate and maintain our state of the art lime softening surface water treatment plant. Core Responsibilities for the Position:Operating and maintaining water treatment plant equipmentOverseeing, inspecting, performing rounds and monitoring the water treatment plant and water distribution system, making process changes to ensure adequate water quality, pressure, and storage throughout the distribution systemMonitoring chemical feed equipment and appurtenances, calculating proper feed rates and dosages, and making adjustments as needed   Safely handling and transferring water treatment chemicalsPerforming troubleshooting and determining efficient operation by interpreting plant performance resultsHaving working knowledge of SCADA, computers, online analyzers, gauges,
meters and associated equipmentCleaning, maintaining, and repairing buildings, tools and equipment as necessaryMaintaining good safety attitude, abiding by all safety rules, and properly using all provided safety equipment and apparelCollecting water samples and performing laboratory analyses on water samples for chemical, physical and bacteriological qualityMaintaining daily and monthly operational logs/recordsReceiving emergency calls and taking appropriate actionPerform other work and tasks as assignedQualifications Desirable for the Position:A valid Wisconsin issued Driver’s LicenseAssociate Degree in a water treatment program or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experienceTwo years of experience operating a surface water treatment plant including laboratory experience, or equivalent experienceState of Wisconsin Water Treatment Plant Operators License with Subclasses S, L, and DCompensation & Benefits:Starting compensation is $23.18 hourly, negotiable based on experience level. Any compensation request above $28.10 hourly requires additional approval. This is a full time position that requires working a rotating shift, including weekends and holidays.
