USACE), Seattle District, proposes to perform maintenance dredging in sections of the Upper Duwamish waterway navigation channel via a mechanical clamshell dredge. The Duwamish River navigation project is located in Seattle, WA. The federal project consists of a 3,300 feet long channel and 500 feet long and 250 feet wide for the settling basin. The authorized project depth is -15 feet MLLW. The proposed action will remove approximately 100,000 cubic yards (CY) of accumulated sediment from segment A of the channel and settling basin (stations 254+00 to
275+56) to the project depth, plus two (2) feet allowable overdepth. Segment B of the channel (stations 242+00 to 254+00) will be dredged to project depth plus one (1) foot allowable overdepth. Material will be removed with a clamshell dredge with dredged material loaded onto bottom‐dump barges for placement at Dredged Materials Management Program’s Elliott Bay Open Water Disposal Site. Interested parties should be familiar with the weather and river conditions for this project location, including an understanding of the tides and currents in the work area. Dredging would begin no sooner than 1 December 2021 and all in-water work must be completed by 15 February 2022. Bonds, insurnace & prevailing min wages apply.Gregory Cook
