Summary: The work can be generally described as the delivery, transport and setting two each 20,000-gallon RTC (Rail Tank Cars) in a static training mode. The project includes installation of tangent rail /track with proper subgrade and ballast on which the RTCs will be placed. The project site is located in Training Area 41at Ft. Barfoot, Blackstone, Virginia. The work is considered to be non-capital construction. The vendor will be required to prepare the training site that will include 120 lineal feet section of simulated railroad track (static display) and an extended construction entrance. The owner

will supply two each 20,000-gallon Rail Tank Cars (RTC) that will have to be relocated from the Fort Barfoot Department of Public Works compound to the training site (distance of approximately 5 miles). These RTCs will be loaded, transported, and set into place for long term, static training. Each car is 65’ long and weighs approximately 65,000 pounds.
