2090 - URGENT SOLE SOURCE AWARD FOR THE USS IWO JIMA (LHD7) FABRICATION OF GALLEY ITEMS

This action is for the award of a sole source, urgent, firm-fixed priced contract to JAL Enterprises (DBA The Source), 502 Rotary Street, Hampton, VA 23661 utilizing the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(2). The statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition is - allows for limiting of sources under the authority of the Contracts: competition requirements, as implemented by FAR 6.302-2 for unusual and compelling urgency. The proposed acquisition is for the procurement of fabricated stainless steel cabinets with counter tops, new CPO, Mess, Port and Starboard Beverage Lines and other misc. fabricated galley habitability items. The authority FAR 6.302-2 cited above is applicable for the urgent support to be provided under the authority requested to meet critical and necessary requirement in order for the Navy to send a ready ship back to sea. Global supply chain issues have created unprecedented lead times and it is important that work begin immediately to reduce the risk of a schedule
