  Notice of Intent to Sole Source for a Fourier Transform Infrared SpectroscopyThe National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to issue a change order to Gasmet Technologies, Inc.In accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1, the contractor is the only known responsible source who can provide the required equipment.  No other source has been identified who can satisfy the requirement listed below.The purpose of this notice is to inform the public that the National Institutes of Health, Division of Occupational Health and Safety (DOHS) intends to purchase a Gasmet GT5000 Terra Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) analyzer to replace an instrument that is no longer supported for maintenance, repair, or calibration from the manufacturer.  The Gasmet GT5000 Terra FTIR analyzer is portable and lightweight (9.4kg) and is specifically designed for demanding and active field use  and allows  simultaneous gas measurements while on the move.  It has real-time reading function of 50+gases,
including all common anesthetic gases used at the NIH.  The Gasmet GT5000 will assist DOHS in accomplishing its mission of eliminating or reducing health and safety risks in the workspace that are associated with waste anesthetic gases.  The Gasmet GT5000 Terra FTIR will be used for routine preventive surveys as well as evaluation of chemical exposures in emergencies and critical incidents.This notice is not a request for competitive quotes.  However, any party that believes it can meet the requirement as stated herein may submit a written capability statement that clearly supports and demonstrates their ability to provide the Gasmet equipment in this announcement.  A determination by the Government to compete this proposed award based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.  Correspondence in response to this notice must include SS-NIH-6417084 in the subject line of the email.It is anticipated that an award will be issued approximately five (5) days after the date of this notice unless the Government determines that another organization has the capability to meet this requirement.  Please email responses to <zetherine.gore@nih.gov >no later than 12:00 p.m. EST on Wednesday, September 7, 2022.
