The downtown core area of Davis, bounded by 5th Street to the north, the south side of 1st Street, the west side of B Street and the Union Pacific railroad tracks, is a compact urban mixture of commercial and residential uses. The City has been working to find a balance between achieving the goals of
State solid waste diversion regulations (AB 341, AB 1826 and SB 1383), welcoming more food-service businesses into areas previously used for retail, changing the use of spaces previously dedicated to utility services, and modifying existing waste collection areas to manage increasing volumes of waste. The City is seeking outside assistance to develop a plan that would provide a roadmap for the City to plan for and best manage waste generated from the downtown core area. The contract will be for a period of one year from the date the standard agreement is signed. Questions submitted after the due date or via phone will not be accepted. All substantive questions and answers will be published via an addendum posted here and distributed to interested parties. Submittal Information Companies interested in submitting a proposal for this project should respond to this RFP with a written proposal providing all the information requested. The proposal will be considered complete only if all of the items listed under the Proposal Requirements are included. Proposals shall be delivered via email to Jennifer Gilbert at JGilbert@cityofdavis.org on or before 4:00 pm, Thursday, August 25, 2022 with subject line: Downtown Davis Waste Management Plan Proposal.
