This is a Source Sought/Request for Information (RFI) notice. This is not a request for proposalsand does not obligate the Government to award a contract. The Drug EnforcementAdministration (DEA) is conducting market research, and is encouraging all businesses,including small businesses, to respond to this notice. The information requested herein willbe used within the DEA to facilitate the decision making process in acquisition planning, andwill not be disclosed outside the agency. The DEA will not be responsible for any cost incurredby interested parties in responding to this notice. Unsolicited proposals or offers of any kindwill not be considered in response to this notice. All information received in response tothis notice that is marked “Proprietary” will be handled accordingly. Responses to the noticewill not be returned. oraddressed by the Government.The purpose of this notice is to gather information to determine the availability of vendorscapable of providing chemical storage buildings in support of DEA’s Authorized Central StorageProgram. The chemical storage building specifications are listed in the attachment.The U.S. Department of Justice, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has a requirement fora single compartment hazardous material storage building, along with a Duelcompartment hazardous material storage building in support of DEA Authorized CentralStorage (ACS) Program. The ACS program offers a solution to the difficulty and cost ofmanaging and disposing of hazardous waste found, seized, and removed from clandestinedrug laboratories. Law enforcement officers characterize, segregate, package, and transportsuch hazardous waste from clandestine drug laboratory sites to various state-authorizedcollection stations, which are located throughout the individual states. The individual statesrequire several collection stations for temporary storage of hazardous waste. The hazardouswaste will be stored in the collection stations until such time as DEA's Contractors are dispatchedto the collection stations to pick-up, remove, and properly dispose of the hazardous waste.
