Special Notice Digital PCR SystemThis is not a solicitation. This is a notification of an intent to award a single source procurement under NAICS code 334516. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Agricultural Research Service (ARS), Animal Parasitic Diseases Laboratory (APDL) in Beltsville, MD will solicit and award a purchase order for a Digital PCR system for the absolute quantification of nucleic acids without requiring standard curves. The APDL will use the Digital PCR system in combination with PCR-suppressing dyes to selectively amplify the DNA of live parasites using digital PCR, specifically designed to enumerate amplification targets associated with viability.The Government believes that only one responsible source can provide this requirement. The statutory authority for other than full and open
competition is 41 U.S.C.3304(a)(1), only one source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. If firms believe they have the technical capability to meet this need, submit a technical capability statement along with business profile to Dilynn Rogers at
dilynn.rogers@usda.gov by 8/11/2022. Any information received will be treated as market research information towards future similar or same requirements. Quotations or proposals received in response to this notice will not be accepted since the synopsis is not a request for proposal. A determination to compete this action based on the responses received is in the sole discretion of the Government.
