BackgroundThe NIST Information Services Office, through teams focusing on Resource, Access & Data, Outreach & Marketing Group, and Museum & Archives provides professional scientific and technical information assistance to a community of 3,000 researchers throughout their research and publishing cycles.  The Library provides accurate, high quality, and timely research consulting and information products and ensures that users can discover and obtain the digital and print resources needed to support NIST's mission.  A large part of the information resources made available to the NIST researchers are e-resources in the form of e-journals, digitized versions of NIST technical publications, databases, and e-books made accessible through the NVL. The history of NIST’s accomplishments and contributions to measurement science is captured and made available to researchers around the world through the NVM and NDA.The NIST Research Library requires access to a database which provides broad
subject areas of engineering and applied science in a comprehensive manner. Coverage should include nuclear technology, bioengineering, transportation, chemical and process engineering, light and optical technology, agricultural engineering and food technology, computers and data processing, applied physics, electronics and communications, control, civil, mechanical, materials, petroleum, aerospace and automotive engineering as well as narrower subtopics within all these and other major engineering fields. The NIST Research Library requires access to bibliographic citations, abstracts and full text in the field of Engineering for NIST Engineers.  It is critical NIST engineers’ research to have access to the most current engineering information in the most comprehensive database of engineering material.Requirements for AccessProvide unlimited access to online coverage from 1884 to the present for all engineering disciplines from 77 countries; publishers; journals; Open Access titles; trade magazines; conference proceedings; book series; articles in press from journals; and dissertations.Provide a search interface which enables quick and easy access to content.Provide 24/7 electronic access from NIST Researchers' desktops or anywhere within the NIST domain.Externally hosted database with IP authentication;Provide training and technical supportThe period of performance shall be one year or multiple years. DeliveryAll content shall be accessed via the web. Internet connectivity shall make the content available to NIST personnel via IP authentication.
