aloud.\n\nAll bids must be submitted with the Original and Two Copies in a sealed envelope plainly marked with Bid\n# 6104 Woonsocket Senior Center Double Door Replacement on its exterior.\n\nThe work shall include, but not be limited to: Field Verification of the Site, delivery of all materials &\nequipment required for the complete installation of (1) ADA compliant double door with one automatic\ndoor opener at the rear side entrance.\n\nIn accordance with RI General Law 37-13-7, contracts in excess of $1,000 shall require compensation based on\nprevailing wages for construction, alteration and/or repair, painting and decorating.\n\nA certified check payable to the City of Woonsocket or Bid Bond in the amount of 5% ofthe bid price, must accompany\neach proposal. The Certified Check or Bonds will be returned to all but the successful bidder upon execution of the\nContract. The bidder\u2019s check/bond will be returned upon acceptance of a Performance and Payment Bond by the City.\n\nA Performance and Payment Bond for the entire project with a satisfactory surety company will be required of the\nsuccessful bidder. Successful bidder shall file an application and be issued a permit with the Building Inspection\nDivision, prior to any work commencing.\n\nIn accordance with Rhode Island General Law 44-1-6, nonresident contractors are subject to a 3% withholding of the\ncontract price to secure payment of any sales tax, use tax, and/or income tax withheld that may be due the State of\nRhode Island.\n\nThe Finance Department, through its Director, reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids or proposals; to\nwaive any technicality to any bid or part thereof submitted; to accept any bid or option or comparison thereof; to\ncontract in part or in whole; and to accept the bid deemed to be in the best interest of the City of Woonsocket.\n\nNo bidder may withdraw its bid within sixty (60) days after the actual time and date ofthe bid opening thereof. The price of\nthe bid must be exclusive of taxes and will be so constructed.\n\nQUALIFICATION OF BIDDERS\n\nTheCity shall make such investigations, as it deems necessary, to determinethe ability of the bidder\nto perform the work. The bidder shall furnish the City with all such information and data for the\npurpose as may be requested. Insurance certificates listing other subcontracting or related firms other\nthan the actual bidder are not acceptable. Atthetimethe bid is submitted to the City all bidders must\nprovide insurance certificates listing the actual bidder as the insured party. The City of W oonsocket\nmust be listed as an additionally insured party and as accertificate holder. The minimum amounts of\ninsurance coverage must be listed as $2,000,000.00 for general liability and $1,000,000.00 for\nautomobile liability. Workers compensation insurance must be provided per RI general law (see\nTableA).\n\nADDENDA AND IINTERPRETATIONS\n\nInterpretation on the meaning of the Plans, Specifications or other Contract Document should be\nemailed to the Planning Department Construction Supervisor attskoback@ woonsocketri.org, and to\nbe given consideration must be received at least four (4) days prior to the date fixed for the opening\nof the bids.\n\nAII interpretations and supplemental instructions, which if issued, will posted on the City\u2019s website\nfor all prospective bidders not later than 48 hours priorto the datefixed fortheopening of bids (unless\nsuch addenda postpone the opening of bids). Failure of bidder to receive any such addendum or\ninterpretations shall not relieve any bidder from obligation under his bid submitted.
