This is a sources sought announcement only. This sources sought is for acquisition planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or ultimately award a contract. Any cost incurred as a result of the announcement shall be borne by the interested party (prospective offeror) and will not be charged to the government for reimbursement. Respondents will not be notified of the results of any government assessments.Industry Day: A pre-solicitation site visit has been scheduled for Thursday 02 May 2024 at Dale Hollow Dam. Participants must complete the attached U.S. Citizen or Foreign National Site Visit Request Form in order to attend. PURPOSE: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is conducting this Sources Sought in support of Market Research to notify and seek potential qualified members of industry to gain knowledge of capabilities, interest, and qualifications; to include the Small Business Community for completing the work effort relative to removal and replacement of deteriorated concrete at Dale Hollow Dam Bridge. Responses to this Sources Sought Synopsis will be used by the Government in making appropriate acquisition decisions. The Government must ensure there is adequate competition in making appropriate decisions. The type of set-aside acquisition will depend upon the responses to this sources sought.NO SOLICITATION EXISTS AT THIS TIME.SCOPE OF WORK (SUBJECT TO CHANGE): The 90% Scope of Work is attached for information purposes only. The U.S Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Nashville District, anticipates a requirement for a firm fixed-price construction contract for the Dale Hollow Dam Bridge Deck.The Contractor will be responsible for the following activities/items under the proposed contract: This project is performed at the Dale Hollow Dam located in Clay County TN. The scope of work is to remove and replace the deteriorated concrete that meets Condition State 3 or worse (as defined by AASHTO) from the concrete overhanging sections along the concrete bridge deck. There are 6 bridge deck spans @ 60’ clear distance (Figure 1). Each concrete overhang extends approximately 3 ft from the center line of the girder at a height of 20” (Figure 4 & Figure 5). There are two overhanging sections per span: upstream side and downstream side.The plan will include concrete removal to sound substrate, corroded rebar removal, reinforcing/dowel placement as needed and concrete placement. The use of dowels/anchors and reinforcement may be necessary to secure the new concrete to the existing surface.
