"PORT OF MOBILE\n\nALABAMA PORT AUTHORITY\n\nRequisition and Proposal\nProject Name MmcDuffie Beach House Dembolition\n\nProject # 11208 Task # 1\n\nTo: Prospective Bidders Date: December 2022\nDelivery of Proposal: Delivery of Work:\n\nAlabama State Port Authority Alabama State Port Authority\n\nLocations identified below in NOTES #1 McDuffie Coal Terminal, Mobile AL\n\nDescription of Work\n\nThis Requisition solicits proposals for demolition and disposal of a two story, timber and wood frame\noffice building elevated on wood piers. The building footprint is approximately 7000 square feet located\nat the McDuffie Coal Terminal in Mobile, Alabama. The building is to be demolished and removed down\nto existing grade. Work will be in accordance with the requirements stated herein, attached sketches\nand specifications, attached insurance requirements, and applicable State of Alabama Laws. The work\nconsists principally of providing bonds, labor, materials, equipment, insurance, and
supervision\nnecessary for the work described in this package.\n\nAll Contractors submitting bids are to carefully examine the site of the proposed work by appointment\nonly and thoroughly review the contract requirements prior to submission of a bid proposal. Each\nBidder shall satisfy oneself as to the character, quality, and quantities of work to be performed, and as\nto the requirements of the proposed contract. The submission of a proposal shall be proof that the\nbidding Contractor has made such examination and is satisfied as to the conditions to be encountered in\nperforming the work and as to the requirements of the proposed Contract. All bidding Contractors must\nhold the proper license from the State Licensing Board for General Contractors, Montgomery, Alabama.\n\nAn optional pre-bid meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at 8:00 a.m. Meet in the\nLobby of the International Trade Center (250 North Water Street, Mobile, AL). A site visit will be\n\nincluded.\n\nThe work performed under this contract shall not commence until the Contractor has submitted the\nfollowing in an acceptable form: a Performance Bond, a Labor & Material Bond, and a Certificate of\nInsurance. Performance Bond shall be in an amount equal to 100% of the contract price; Labor &\nMaterial Bond equal to 100% of the contract price; and Certificate of Insurance shall be as per the\nattached requirements and countersigned by a licensed resident agent in the State of Alabama.\n\nThe Contractor will be required to complete the work under the Contract within 60 calendar days after\nreceipt of a \u201cNotice to Proceed\u201d. The work will have to be scheduled and performed in a manner that\nwill not interfere with the operations of the facility. Work will start not later than 10 calendar days after\nreceipt of notice to proceed. The assigned superintendent shall have the responsibility for\nthe day-to-day operations of the work and shall remain on the Project site while the work under the\nContract is being performed.\n\nTime is an essential element in the contract. As the prosecution of the work will inconvenience\noccupants of the facility and interfere with business, it is important that the work be pressed vigorously\nto completion. Also, the cost to the Alabama State Port Authority of the administration of the contract,\nsupervision, inspection, and engineering will be increased as the time occupied in the work is\nlengthened. Therefore, exclusive of Sundays and national holidays, for each day that the work remains\nincomplete after the time specified, an amount of $100.00 shall be paid by the contractor to the\nAlabama State Port Authority as liquidated damages for the loss sustained by the State because of\nfailure of the contractor to complete the work within the specified time.\n\nIMPORTANT NOTICE TO BIDDERS REGARDING EMPLOYMENT PRACTICES: Effective October 1, 2011,\nthe Beason-Hammon Alabama Taxpayer and Citizen Protection Act (\u201cthe Act\u201d) requires that any\nbusiness entity contracting with or providing any grant or incentives to the state, including the Alabama\nState Port Authority, certify compliance with the Act.
