Jackson StreetGate City, VA 24251 The Scott County Schools Maintenance Department is seeking bids for demolition and asbestos abatement of approximately 7,925 total square feet of various flooring material as described below for the schools listed in the RFP. Sealed bids will be received by Scott County Virginia Schools at their office, 340 East Jackson Street, Gate City, Virginia 24251 until 11:00am local prevailing time on Monday April 8, 2024, at which time, they will be publicly opened and read. Bids should be sealed in an envelope marked “Flooring Demo and Abatement” and marked “Attention: John Ferguson, Superintendent.”An optional pre-bid conference will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at 8:30am at the Scott County Schools Maintenance Office, 298 Jennings Street, Weber City, Virginia 24290. The purpose of the pre-bid conference is to allow potential bidders to visit the job site, present questions, and obtain clarification relative to this

solicitation. Please see the following description for the Schools scheduled for demo and abatement and contractor request:Demo and Abatement ScheduleFort Blackmore Primary (214 Big Stoney Creek Rd., Fort Blackmore, VA 24250) Approximately 820sf for demo & abatement of carpet, 9” x 9” tile and adhesives which includes 1 classroom and 1 closet with room numbers 009 and 010.Rye Cove High (164 Eagles Nest Lane, Duffield, VA 24244) Approximately 4,220sf for demo & abatement of carpet, 9” x 9” tile and adhesives which includes locker room, library, and offices with room numbers 128, 146, 147, 148, 148A, 149, 150, 200, 201, 202 and 203.Demo OnlyGate City Middle School (170 Harry Fry Drive, Gate City, VA 24251) Approximately 2,885sf for demo only of carpet and adhesive which includes the library and library offices with room numbers 139, 141, 142, 143 and 145.
