The Naval Air Systems Command, PMA-265 (Program Office for F/A-18 FMS Aircraft), intends to purchase 66 Advanced Capabilities Mission Computers for Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) F/A-18F aircraft. This procurement will be a fixed price sole sourced stand-alone contract for Fiscal Year 2018. This acquisition is being pursued on a sole source basis under the statutory authority of 10 USC 2304 (C) (1) as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, "Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements." Boeing is the designer, developer, manufacturer, and integrator of the F/A-18 aircraft in its various configurations; and as such, is the only known firm with the knowledge, experience, and technical expertise required to accomplish this effort.
