Phase 3B includes demolishing and removing 7 Fafco ice tanks and their associated housekeeping pads, leveling and painting the ice bank room floor, and painting of new and affected piping. Other Details DEPARTMENT OF INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS (DIR). This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. No contractor or subcontractor may be listed on a bid proposal for a Public Works project unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5. No contractor or subcontractor may be awarded a contract for public work on a Public Works project unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5. “News Release No.: 2022-12. The Department of Industrial Relations’ Labor Enforcement Task Force (LETF) is leading a new initiative to inspect publicly funded construction sites to ensure employers provide workers’ compensation insurance and follow labor laws, including applicable prevailing wage laws, skilled and trained workforce requirements, workplace health and safety requirements, and apprenticeship standards. The enforcement effort includes teams from DIR’s Divisions of Occupational Safety and Health (Cal/OSHA), and Labor Standards Enforcement (Labor Commissioner’s Office) in collaboration with other enforcement partners. All workers employed on qualifying public works projects must be paid the prevailing wage determined by the Director of the Department of Industrial Relations, according to the type of work performed and location of the project.” Notes INTERPRETATION OF CONTRACT DOCUMENTS. If any prospective bidder preparing a bid for the proposed contract is in doubt as to the intent or meaning of any part of the plans, specifications, or other proposed contract documents, he or she shall submit to the City or designee Engineer a written request for an interpretation thereof. The city will not be responsible for any other explanation or interpretation of the proposed documents, nor will the city be responsible for the completeness of project documents obtained from other sources. After the contract has been awarded, contractor agrees in advance that any ambiguities not submitted to the Engineer pursuant to the above, shall be construed against the Contractor and in favor of the City.
