Fiberoptic Cabling for HiLight: Multiple Dwelling Units and Small Commercial Facilities202305-10025Closing Date: 06/14/2023 02:00:00 PM PTDetail: The City of HIllsboro ("City") is seeking proposals from qualified contractors to provide fiberoptic cabling services for its HiLight project described below. Tasks performed include installing the connectivity between our existing fiber distribution networks installed in the right of way (ROW) or public utility easement (PUE), the customer’s building, and units or offices within the building. Further, the services may include but are not limited to, exterior installation of underground micro-conduit, fiber cable within conduit, aerial fiber cable drops from utility poles, splicing, and testing. It will also include the installation of interior infrastructure and cabling such as fiber distribution units, conduits, raceways, drop cables, and wall jacks. A fuller Statement of Work is included in the RFP as Attachment C. Project Background:

HiLight is a high-speed fiber broadband internet service provided by the City of Hillsboro to benefit our community. This fiber-to-the-premise (FTTP) network provides high-speed Internet and VoIP telephone services to citywide residential and commercial customers. The City has approximately 43,000 households and 5,400 commercial entities. There is a mix of multi-dwelling units (MDUs), residential, and commercial addresses. While the City intends to perform many customer installation services internally, we plan to rely heavily on the contractor(s) to supplement our internal team for some functions.
