The project consists of railroad track rehabilitation activities including cross tie removal and replacement, additions or replacement of railroad track appurtenances, ballast removal and replacement and erosion control measures for culverts and embankments. The project is located between the I-11 and I-215 interchange and Paradise Hills Road in the City of Henderson, Nevada. Per section 102.02 of the contract specifications, bidders shall provide to the City, documentation illustrating that personnel performing work impacting railroad tracks are trained and qualified in accordance with Title 49 Subtitle B Chapter II Part 213.7 of the Code of Federal Regulations. Bidders shall also provide to the City, documentation illustrating that personnel performing safety-related railroad work are trained and qualified in accordance with Title 49 Subtitle B Chapter II Part 243 of the Code of Federal Regulations. The documentation to be provided shall be in accordance with Title 49 Subtitle B Chapter II Part 243.203. Within five (5) calendar days of bid opening, bidders must provide the documentation as attachments to bid forms 6 and 7. Failure to provide the requested documentation within the allotted time may result in the disqualification of the bid. Ballast rock that is locally sourced with an L.A. Abrasion value of 35% max is acceptable for this contract. Please refer to section 530.02.01 of the contract specifications for additional ballast material
