Pre-Solicitation Notice for notice of intent to award a sole source contract. This is not a solicitation. The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to negotiate a sole source contract for a 12-month base and (2) annual option years with the University of Michigan, 503 Thompson Street, Ann Arbor, MI 48109 to obtain specialized research sequencing. The University of Michigan Advanced Genomics Core will perform spatial transcriptomics on mouse pancreas tissue exposed to toxins for the Ann Arbor VA Medical Center. Due to the affiliate relationship with Ann Arbor VA Medical Center as well as their specialized expertise in this area, and the ongoing research projects that tie in with specific areas of expertise required for these studies the University of Michigan is the only vendor that can provide the sequencing services. Since the intent is to procure this on a sole source basis, no solicitation will be posted to FedBizOps (FBO). The applicable NAICS code is 621511 with a $36.5MIL size standard. The PSC is AN21. The authority for this action is FAR 6.302.1-1 Only One Responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.
