Bidders Sound Park Boat Ramp and Boardwalk Repairs

Sealed bids will be received by Currituck County at the: Currituck County Historic Courthouse Board of Commissioners Meeting Room, Second Floor 153 Courthouse Road Currituck, North Carolina 27929 until 2:00 p.m., Eastern Standard Time (EST) on Wednesday, January 11, 2023,and immediately thereafter publicly opened and read for the furnishing of labor, materials and equipment entering into the construction of: Sound Park Boat Ramp and Boardwalk Repairs The project consists of the repair of the Sound Park water front boardwalk and boat ramp. The scope of work includes: removal and replacement of approximately 2,200 SF of elevated timber boardwalk and 1,400 square feet of decking and timber stringers for 3 boat launch piers, installation of new bulkhead earth anchors, repair of approximately 350 square feet of concrete boat launch ramp and an Additive bid for installation of pile wraps on 130 existing 10” timber piles Sealed bids may also be mailed to: Crystal Owens, Contract Purchasing

Agent, Currituck County, 153 Courthouse Road, Suite 101, Currituck, North Carolina, 27929. It is the Bidder’s responsibility however, to ensure that its’ bid is received at the bid opening location. Bids shall be lump sum base bids with unit price allowance and Additive bid based upon the scope of work defined in the Contract Documents, Plans and Specifications. The County has the option to not select the additive bid in the event the budget does not allow it. Complete plans and specifications in Portable Document Format (PDF) format Contract Drawings and Specifications shall be requested from : Crystal Owens, Contract Purchasing Agent 252-232-6000, ext. 4020 Bids@currituckcountync.gov Each bid shall be accompanied by a cash deposit or a certified check drawn on a bank or trust company authorized to do business in North Carolina, payable to the County of Currituck, in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid, as a guarantee that a contract will be entered into. In lieu of cash or a certified check, the Bidder may submit a bid bond in the form prescribed in N.C. Gen. Stat. § 143-129. The Successful Bidder shall be required to furnish a performance bond and a payment bond for one hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount. No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids for a period of 30 days. All bidders must meet the licensing requirements under Chapter 87 of the N.C. General Statutes. Small Business Entities, Women Owned Businesses, Minority Owned Businesses, Veteran and Service-disabled Veteran Owned Businesses are encouraged to submit bids. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities, as it may deem to be in its best interest. Pre-Bid Meeting A non mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held for all interested bidders on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at 2:00 p.m.at: 8955 Caratoke Highway, Point Harbor, North Carolina The meeting will address project specific questions, issues, and bidding procedures. Attendance by prospective bidders is not mandatory.
