NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACTThe National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to negotiate a contract on a sole source basis with the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC). The purpose of the contract is for the contractor to supply the generation of two CRISPR-EASI transgenic mice to the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD). UNMC is the only facility that uses CRISPR-EASI technology which is super-efficient at knockout genes.  Also, this facility has generated three previous transgeneic lines for NIDCD  and all three were successful.ResponsesThe proposed acquisition action is for items and services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1 (b).
