The awarded contractor agrees to provide the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) all labor, tools, materials, equipment, and travel necessary to perform accurate American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation of the California Driver Handbook, Driver Examination questions, sample tests, and miscellaneous departmental projects for the term of the agreement. The anticipated term is 5/1/2020 through 4/30/2022 with an option to extend 12 months additional.
The awarded contractor shall utilize interpreters, signers, directors, researchers, and reviewers who have either a minimum of five (5) years of signing experience or possess an ALSTA certificate from the American Sign Language Teachers Association, RID certificate from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, Inc., or equivalent certificate. Proof of experience shall be available whenever requested by the DMV throughout the term of the Agreement.
