rmulkey@sdsu.edu Bids to Owner's Agent Description Scope of Services San Diego State University, Student Disability Services, Division of Student Affairs and Campus Diversity, is requesting proposals from Contractors qualified to provide American Sign Language Interpreting Services. The Student Disability Services (SDS) office provides American Sign Language Interpreting Services to eligible Deaf and hard of hearing students as well as University faculty, staff, visitors, and guests. The majority of these services are provided by in-house interpreters. When the demand for services surpasses the University interpreter’s availability, additional interpreting services are needed. In order to respond to this need, Student Disability Services (SDS) is soliciting (s) to provide these services on an as-needed basis. The proposals will be evaluated by a committee selected by the University and awards will be made in the best interest of the University. The University intends to award a primary Contractor and a secondary Contractor for services needed when the Primary Contractor is unable to provide a service due to availability. Other Details San Diego State University, Student Disability Services, recognizes the importance of quality real-time auditory access to academic and co-curricular materials. American Sign Language Interpreting services are integral pieces of the accommodation process for students who are deaf and hard-of-hearing. For the duration of the term, the Contractor(s) shall provide American Sign Language Interpreting Services for the Student Ability Success Center as well as students with disabilities enrolled in courses through Global Campus and for University wide and special events.
