Leon County is seeking the services of a qualified contractor to process yard debris received at the Apalachee Parkway Solid Waste Management Facility (SWMF). The qualified vendor will be awarded based on the estimated annual total for A.) Grinding, B.) Screening, and C.) Removal/Hauling service. from SWMF as well as the transportation of debris at the three rural waste sites which include Miccosukee Road, Fort Braden, and Woodville. The County estimates 2,000 tons of yard debris to be received annually with all three rural waste sites combined. The services provided for the Apalachee Parkway Solid Waste Management Facility shall be done every four weeks and the services for the rural waste sites shall be done every six months.The County’s objective is to convert the yard debris it receives into a useable product or products. Those products may include potting mix, compost, mulch, boiler fuel, soil amendment, or any such product deemed a beneficial use. The yard debris may be used alone or in combination with other organic materials to produce the final product(s). Bidders are encouraged to visit the SWMF to assist in preparation of their bids.
