Job Description:BCC has a long history of a Theatre program and, to help address the rising need of local theatre technicians, the college has begun offering a Certificate in Technical Theatre this Fall semester. We are seeking a faculty member who can teach the relevant courses as well as strengthen community partnerships to prepare students for work in the Technical Theatre industry. We are looking for a faculty member who can teach a variety of theatre courses such as, stagecraft, theatre design, drafting and rendering, and theatre management. In addition to typically teaching 15 credit hours each semester, faculty participate in college service and advise students. BCC is looking for a candidate who enjoys working with a diverse group of students: completing a technical theatre certificate, preparing for an associate degree in Fine Arts, or taking theatre courses as part of their general education coursework. The ideal candidate employs active learning teaching techniques and practices specifically in their approach to teaching theatre management, production, construction, and design. The ideal candidate is a collaborative colleague who enjoys sharing their enthusiasm and expertise for creativity in the arts as well as their work experience in technical theatre. Requirements:MFA or Master's degree in related subject area is required. College teaching experience is required with community college experience preferred. Experience working in a technical theatre position for a theatre company is preferred. A strong commitment to student-centered education with experience incorporating multiple instructional strategies and teaching in different modalities (online and on-ground).
