Notice Summary Eugene School District 4J invites organizations (Providers) to submit qualifications for grant funding of summer programs for District students. The Oregon Department of Education (ODE) will support funding to organizations providing summer programs in one or more categories, including: K-8 summer enrichment programs, K-5 wrap-around child care, or high school courses for credit needed to stay on-track for graduation. Priority funding will be awarded to programs serving students disproportionately impacted by COVID-19, including: Black, American Indian/Alaska Native, Latino/a/x, and Pacific Islander communities; students experiencing disabilities; and students and families navigating poverty.
The qualification process is to ensure a transparent and fair system for funding allocation in the event requests exceed available funding. Grant awards are a reimbursement from the District to the Provider; families will select and pay (if applicable) the Provider for optional summer programming. Note that the Provider programs are separate from those provided to students directly by the District during the summer. Providers may request use of available District building space; a fee for facility use may apply.
The District intends to enter into multiple grant agreements for summer programs. Grant funding is available June 1, 2021 to September 30, 2021. Final expenditures must be made by September 30,
